Have you thought to do your work placement abroad by the beach on one of the most beautiful Greek islands? Bella Vista Hotel is situated on Benitses beach in Corfu, Greece, and it’s the ideal setting for your summer internship in 2025. It’s a small hotel with approximately 50 rooms available during the summer.
Bella Vista accepts students from a wide range of different fields. While international hospitality internships and/or management programs are the most common, we open our arms to students looking for marketing internships, graphic design internships, art internships, and even creative writing internships.
The hotel is a small operation and it has a well-known reputation on the island for hospitality, innovative management, and marketing campaigns. We’re located a few steps away from the beach, a short walk from the mountain trails, and a twenty-five minute bus ride away from Corfu Town, the bustling capital of the island. Accommodation, a buffet breakfast, and a home-cooked Greek lunch is provided for the entire length of your summer internship. Most internships typically last from three months to one year, depending on the position of the student at the hotel.
The Different Types of Paid Internships Available
Even though we favour hospitality, management and those looking for travel and tourism internships, we accept students for the following roles:
- Hospitality internship (suits all levels and degrees)
- Management work placement (suits advanced management interns from various faculties – of which engineering is popular – usually in their final year of study or during a masters)
- Night management internship (suits advanced management interns, usually in their final year of study or during a masters)
- Social media communications and marketing internship (suits creative marketers who are studying a related field and want hands-on experience being an influencer on a Greek island)
- Creative writing internship (suits creative students, specifically aspiring authors, writers, or journalists, who are studying a related field)
- Graphic design internship (suits creative students who are studying a related field.)
- Art internship (suits creative students who are studying a related field and enjoy drawing, painting, illustrating, photography, architecture, filmmaking, or design, among other things)
- Dance (suits dancers looking for dance jobs abroad to work with the social media marketing interns to help us go VIRAL)

It’s important to remember that the payment of your Erasmus internship will be handled through Erasmus. The hotel is not responsible for providing a salary, although it does provide accommodation and food. We will assist you with the documentation for scholarships and where to get support.

The summer internship program at Bella Vista Hotel provides students with practical, hands-on experience and exposure to the workings of a small enterprise in the hotel industry. Through this work practice, students have the chance to gain first-hand experience in hospitality, management, tourism, and entrepreneurship. This work placement provides a unique experience to students because of the size of the hotel wherein interns have the chance to lead projects, directly implement innovative ideas, and work closely with management on new initiatives within the hotel. We encourage creativity, so if you have an idea, we’re more than happy to hear it!
The aim of this work placement abroad is to provide students with multi-faceted work experience. In addition to the practical training, students have the opportunity to live next to the beach in Benitses, Corfu, and take advantage of all the beauty the island has to offer. Interns often rent a car to see more of the beautiful island on their days off. This is especially encouraged for those on a social media marketing internship so you can create juicy content for our various channels!
Throughout your Erasmus internship, students will meet other international interns and make new friends and connections. The emphasis of the placement is on hotel management and entrepreneurship, and to provide knowledge to students in a relaxed environment.

Your Work Placement Abroad: A Breakdown
Summer internships 2025 will usually involve the following:
- 50% of your work hours will be spent working with food and beverage, such as waitressing, food preparation and assistance, serving and cleaning tables, etc. (in the breakfast room and bar)
- 25% of your work hours will be spent in hospitality or marketing.
- Hospitality tasks may include: working on reception, guest relations, or working with reservations and various organization platforms.
- Online tasks may include Facebook marketing, promotions and updates, creating content for Instagram, TikTok, and other social channels, and replying to guests in guest review channels like TripAdvisor, etc.
- 25% of your work hours will be spent in management and sales, depending on individual capabilities. This can be a personal development project, reports on tourism, market research, learning how hotels are managed, and much more.
Note: Specific marketing internships may involve more time dedicated to reception and guest relations. However, please note that you are applying to work in a hotel and some form of hotel assistance will most likely be required. Be prepared to be hands on!
Work shifts are based around 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. These can be day, evening, night. They may be continuous shifts or split shifts (meaning you can go to the beach in between work!).
During the spring and autumn seasons, tasks are geared towards Sales, Online Marketing and Social Media.
An Overview of 2025 Summer Internship
Working hours: A total of 40 hours per week.
Accommodation: Free shared staff accommodation provided.
Food: Free breakfast daily included and 6 lunches per week
Finance: Applicants for the summer internship are encouraged to apply for European financial support such as Erasmus or University support, and any other means of private funding for this work practice.
There are no transportation costs to and from work.
How Long is This Erasmus Internship?
The summer internship is valid for a period from three (3) to six (6)+ months, depending on individual circumstances.
Summer Internship 2025: The Ideal Candidate
The internship is primarily geared towards hospitality, hotel, management, business, and marketing students, but other majors such as arts & design, photography, social media, writing, or computer science are welcomed.
The ideal candidate is young, enthusiastic, and wants to combine the practical training of their summer internship with the pleasure of living on a Greek island right next to the beach. After this experience, you are hoping to become a hotel manager, a marketing executive, or a small business owner.
Ideally, you’ll stay between 3-6+ months depending on the hotel’s (and your) needs at the time of application.
Requirements for Summer Internships in 2025
- You must be over the age of 18 years
- You must have a relevant educational background in Business, Tourism, Hotel, Management, or Marketing
- You must possess good language skills. English is essential, but another language is important as we have international guests (the majority of our guests are English and Italian)
- You must be attending a European school/university
- You must possess a European passport, OR, for non-Europeans (native Russians and others), you will need a visa D.4.3
- You will need university and/or work references
- You must be able to quickly adapt to new cultures and be open, friendly, and have a flexible attitude
Benefits and Compensation for Your Work Placement Abroad
- You will receive financial compensation through Erasmus. We can assist you with documentation and guidance for how to apply for this.
- You will receive free, shared accommodation with the other international interns.
- You will receive home-made Greek-style buffet breakfast
- For 6 days per week (not on Sundays), you will receive home-cooked Greek lunch by our chef
